Stay safe, ..have fun, ..fill your tum!

When you are out at camp, or a similar fresh air environment, you use up lots of extra energy (sleeping under canvas), often waking up cold(ish) & tired you want & need a good breakfast for fuel to keep you going.
Dad will eat an omelette (stuffed with cheese & veg) every day for weeks on end if he gets the chance when on the mountain because eggs can really give you lots of good energy which lasts the day without making you feel "heavy" which is good when you are bending over lots doing active sports, so this sort of recipe will make your taste buds happy & still allow you to jump around, or go hiking soon after eating.
This is a grab & go "hot sandwich" recipe, best eaten warm, easy to make in one pan for a group of hungry folk ideal for outside at camp or as a week-end treat to get you awake & moving if you have time for a proper breakfast, in fact it's great anytime!
Ingredients:
Sausage, a camp staple! ..chop them into slices with a sharp knife! (get an adult to help you)
Cheese, "all-sorts" grated..
Onion diced, to add some good flavour
Garlic (optional)
Salt & pepper (optional)
Egg: lightly beaten to bind the ingredients together.
Peppers, cut & sliced...
Butter ..to put on those warmed muffins!
English Muffins, one or 2 per person!
equipment:
1x large cooking pan.
Olive oil.
Chopping board.
kitchen knife.
stove, ..camp fire ..or BBQ! ..these are often served in town restaurants when we're away too, so easy & filling to get some vital mountain energy (not just calories & fat to burn off).
Don't leave out the peppers! try them they keep everything moist & give a really light flavour when cooked (besides they're really good for you)! ...the red, orange and yellow peppers are sweeter and almost fruity in flavour, & cooked for a short time contain lots of healthy bits & pieces we need to keep fit, including lots of vitamin C.
The video shows how the BBQ pit boys do it outside & on a bbq grill, much like if you are at camp!
However, we eat this at home, on a school day, ..week-ends, going up the mountain, (foil wrapped to eat in the ski lift), or, if we can't wait ...in the car on the way to the mountain!
After seeing this, who'd want cornflakes ever again!?
