Stay safe, ..have fun, ..fill your tum!
It's got a posh sounding name but really it's a single layer of super rich chocolate cake, gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside, perfect after a hike, or warm out of the oven with a dollop of proper whipped cream & some freshly chopped fruit as a posh pudding. just right for locally picked strawberry season!
My tarte is pretty much a fudge brownie, so if you've ever made those before you will be familiar with the taste & texture already! ...Mmmmm!!!
You can cover it with even more rich sauce if you are making it for a proper pudding, but as I was just practising cooking with Mum & Dad we just had it warm & gooey with a cup of tea whilst we made another posh but fun pudding cake...
(we dusted it with a little icing sugar which hides all the uneven bits on the top! ..works well for a 20 minute cake bake!
There are LOADs of recipes for Torte, & can vary a bit depending on what you really like! ..this is a nice simple recipe though we added lots of cocoa nibs from our cake cupboard ..which really adds to the bite & flavour, & if you go down the simple packet mix route 1st time, then Dr Oetker does a pretty good one (it's a bit of a cheat but it's a good packet brand if your parents or carers don't have the time! ..but have a look here first at the ingredients

I bet you've got most if not all the ingredients around the kitchen! (DARK chocolate really gives this recipe it's colour & flavour so give it a go)!
I've been taking it into school as a packed lunch pudding, if you store it in an airtight container it will keep for 5 days or so.
Another simple "made by me" ...because us cubs CAN cook y'know.
