Being a nosey so & so (& a fundraising pack parent) I made every excuse to poke around the other night..
WOW, the new wheelchair accessible loo has been transformed! so much so that it looks quite a nice place to have 5 minutes to yourself ! ...one large airy, spacious well lit "superloo" Freshly plastered walls (no more mould) a proper low wattage panel heater (to keep the cold & moisture out).
Flooring in the loo was a problem due to the water leak, so joists have been replaced to make good from the ground up.
We still need to fit a few pieces within such as tiling (next project), hang a paper towel dispenser, sort out a wall mounted soap dispenser & make it look the part, but that's for another time.
Proper ventilation within the loo should also help, the old corridor has been turned into a large, lockable, storage cupboard which will help keep cleaning material both plentiful & close to hand for all users of the Scout Hut.
Sensibly, the light fittings have been left in place & re-used, though we may be able to put more energy efficient bulbs in them (..we'll see).
The main hall floor has been levelled & stuffed with efficient insulation, & the floor is waiting to be sealed temporarily before it is finished.
New doors are being fitted (including a new sliding door into the main hall.
The roof lead flashing & tiles have been checked over sorted & fixed, so no more leaks in the "office" area.
We have hot water once more with the installation of on demand hot water heaters.
We'll give out more info as it happens! but thought you might appreciate an update.
