This site was originally conceived after a chat with the then leader of 1st Ramsey, it was set up for the purpose of helping the pack by a parent, a beaver / cub even constructed some of the pages.
Sadly, despite its popularity & interest from all round the world, & a piece in scouting magazine none of the leaders ever took ownership of it, ...shame because the format is as simple as it gets.
As the author of the site the only interaction I had was some very small-minded individuals who were given access to look over the site & suggest formatting changes (I was given very little to go on) simply deleted some of those pages.
I think it is true to say that because I worked on it for free & tried to keep it ticking over with all the pieces you see within the site, it was never actually valued by the folk who asked for it.
Therefore it has sat languishing as a point of reference of badges (probably outdated now) ..at one time it was far more concise than scouting associations own pages where that was concerned.
So if you have an enquiry, please hot foot it to the actual scouting hq as per the map, no-one will answer you from here, I would have happily updated information to assist, but as I never heard from the group with regards to change of leader / details I have left it as is.
Simply not my problem anymore!
That sounds harsh possibly, but as someone from outside Ramsey wanting to assist the group rather than dump a kid & run (which happens a lot) you get fed up with feeling like an outsider amongst some very smallminded committee members who fail to see that they are there to assist the leader not dictate to, (acting like big fish in a small pond ...the one with the fountain).
It's a shame because scouting needs good willing people.
I wish the new leaders & Dale (an old hand) all the best.
